We are moving The Sun Valley Film Festival from March to the beginning of December. This change will begin in 2025.

The new December time frame will position the Festival as a “must-stop” destination for the big film award-season contenders. This strategic shift will provide SVFF attendees with highly anticipated films and award nominated talent showcasing their work in Sun Valley. Our successful Winter Screening in 2018 of FREE SOLO culminated in an Oscar win for the film a few months later. We hope to bring our Festival supporters and attendees the opportunity to have more experiences like this. 

In addition, we are excited to once again serve as an anchor event for Sun Valley during a traditionally quieter time. By hosting the Festival in early December, we want to showcase SVFF as the not-to-be missed kick off for the holiday season and further our mission of enhancing the cultural fabric of our community.

To kick off the transition and to provide a preview of what you can expect in 2025, we’re hosting a special three-day SVFF Winter Screening Series December 6-8, 2024.
